The foremost purpose of the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEİK), one of the leading business organizations in Turkey, is to pave the way for the development of Turkey's economic, commercial, industrial and financial relations with foreign countries as well as international business communities.  DEİK through the Business Council mechanism established with 103 various countries all around the world, has a large international business network and a successful collaboration with international institutions EU Commission, EBRD, IFC, WB, etc.

The Business Councils operating under the umbrella of DEİK aim to contribute to the development of bilateral trade and investment relations between both countries and to promote technological cooperation and joint projects in third markets as well.  The activities of the Business Councils include annual joint meetings, investment seminars, regional and sectoral meetings, and also business missions on the occasion of high level official visits.

Having a pioneering role in Turkey's relations with international organizations, DEİK works for developing its cooperation with international organizations such as the World Trade Organization (WTO), the World Bank (WB), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), The Multilateral Investments Guarantee Agency (MIGA), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), the Developing 8 (D-8) and the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO).

Turkish - British Business Council (TBBC), operating under the auspices of Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEIK), has been working towards the development of trade and investment relations between Turkey and the United Kingdom for over 20 years and believes that it is of utmost importance to further strengthen lasting and long-term business relations of mutual benefit at a time UK-Turkey political relations have entered a "golden era". The Business Council looks forward to helping to create new opportunities for the further development of Turkish-British economic relations and have identified several focus areas including financial services, infrastructure, real estate, healthcare, aerospace and defence as well as collaboration in third markets in the areas of contracting and construction.

Headquartered in Istanbul, DEİK has representatives in Ankara, Washington and Moscow. DEİK also has representatives in 108 Chambers of Commerce and/or Industry and Commodity Exchange in Turkey as well as in Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
